What is Under the Son?

Under the Son is a retreat designed to help youth encounter God, renew their faith, meet friends and connect with youth from around the city.

If you're in high school, or will be entering grade 9 in September, you are invited! For $55, you can expect awesome food, friendship, inspiring talks, small groups, praise & worship, sleeping under the stars, reconciliation, games and fun, music and Mass! Not to mention the extra-special t-shirt!

When and Where Is It?

Diocesan Centre at 1247 Kilborn Place

Registration at 7:00pm, Friday, June 25

Departure is on Sunday, June 27 after lunch BBQ, around 1:30pm

Parents/Guardians are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the event.

What Should I Bring?

• warm sleeping bag, extra warm blanket
• sleeping mat, pillow
• sunscreen and mosquito repellent
• rain gear (just in case)
• warm clothing/coat (it still may be cold at night)
• flashlight
• toiletries (e.g. toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, brush/comb, etc.)
• water bottle (drinking water will be available throughout the weekend)

Please refrain from wearing provocative clothing (e.g. no spaghetti straps or short shorts). Cell phones/electronics should not be used during the weekend.

Which Meals Are Included?

Saturday’s breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as Sunday's breakfast and BBQ for lunch are included in the cost. We encourage you to invite your friends (who should already be at the rally!) and family to our closing mass on Sunday, followed by the BBQ for a cost of $10!

There will also be free snacks available, but bring some pocket change in case you’d like to buy a treat.

Will Pictures Be Taken?

Pictures will be taken throughout the weekend which could be used for publicity. If you would NOT wish to have your son's or daughter's picture used, please contact the Youth Office.

How Can I Register?

You can register online, or mail in a paper form. Registrations will be accepted until June 15, 2010.
